What Would You Choose? Purse or Briefcase

It would be interesting to know how a Japanese woman shops especially in case of handbags. If you just observe the choice of business women in case of handbags then it would be an interesting observation. Remember that there is a difference in the life style of a household and a business woman. That is why a business woman buys and uses things in a different way which can suit her business life. Handbags are considered as a permanent part of every woman’s life. If you are a Japanese woman and you are related to the business field then you must have experience many problems related to your handbag. You might have experienced your handbag get caught in the elevator door. You might also have experienced your handbag kicked under the conference room table. If any of the above events has happened then you might be looking for a quality purse. This is because any mishap can make your purse get torn apart in pieces. If you buy a quality material then you might not get your purse torn. There is another big problem for Japanese business women that what to prefer from purse and briefcase. Briefcases are actually for men who can take the briefcase along with them to any place. The preference should be a quality purse which can become your best friend for a long time. A Japanese woman never runs for a briefcase because it becomes difficult for her to move around easily. However there are some business women who prefer briefcases because this way they can handle their important documents in the briefcase. A purse cannot accommodate large sized documents and files which a briefcase can accommodate.

Choosing the right business bag for you

Without a doubt the most important aspect of purchasing a bag is making sure it is fit for its purpose. There is absolutely no point in carrying around a large multi-pocketed hardened travel bag when all you need to carry is a note pad and some pens. Likewise, trying to squeeze the entire contents of your office into a bag designed to hold only three sheets of A4 and a pencil is not the most efficient use of your time and resources.

So you need to decide what it is you actually need, even if that means owning several bags for different purposes.  This is better than owning one bag that doesn’t really fit any purpose well. Let’s look at some of the options available.

The Classic Briefcase: this piece of luggage has become the iconic symbol of the office worker everywhere from Tokyo, to Wall Street. Anyone seen carrying a brief case can be assumed to be coming or going from the office or a meeting. Modern day brief cases no longer have the sharp lines and corners of their predecessors, instead preferring to have more sleek and curved designs. Leather is still very much the option of choice if you want better quality. If you are on a budget, ballistic nylon is a great option.

Messenger style bags have become much more widespread and popular over the last decade, especially in Japan, where having your hands free as you go in and out of train station gates is very useful. The wide variety of messenger bags available means that they can be worn with a business suit or a more causal style and still look professional.

Holdalls, like the name suggests, can be used to carry a large amount, ideal for a business weekend away. Allowing you to take everything you may need for a conference or series of meetings without the need to take a full suitcase.
